Costuming

Wed Aug 15, 2007, 11:36 AM
Ahh my new love... making costumes and clothes.
I haven't updated for ages because I haven't been drawing/painting anything.
However, I have now graduated to making costumes and clothes, particularly 16th century costumes.
Hopefully I'll be posting a little more regularly than I have been for the last few years! :)

Cheers chica. Loving your work too, and seeing as I'm a bit of a Shakespeare obsessive I'm delighted that you are making Hamlet accessible to a new generation of readers. I didn't think that it was possible to beat the gorgeousness of Waterhouse's Ophelia but I have to say yours is coming pretty close in my opinion. :)

Wow - now THAT is a compliment!! Blimey, thanks so much *dies a little of happiness*
I'm always happy to meet a fellow Shakespeare nut! I adore him...have you picked up Bill Bryson's new Shakespeare book yet? I'm reading it as we speak, and it's definitely worth a read for the Shakespeare fan.

Thanks again, you've made my month with that comment! ^_^

You know, seeing as I work for Durham University and Bill Bryson is our Chancellor I should really make an effort to read his stuff, but I haven't got around to it yet. I'll make an effort to read this one on your recommendation. I've got a trip to India at the end of November so maybe I could get it for flight reading material. (BTW Bill Bryson is the most lovely man - utterly sweet and humble and has so much time for the students, we're so lucky to have him at Durham).
I do however have tickets for Hamlet at the RSC next summer with David Tennant in the title role. I'm REALLY looking forward to that.

Oh my goodness, I would LOVE to meet Bill Bryson - I have nearly everything he's written - you're very lucky indeed. ^_^ I do wonder what someone like him would make of shakespeare in manga form - I had no idea he was a bard fan until I picked up his new book. ^_^

And oh boy, I want to get some tickets to that production. I fear that they may already have sold out - I'm so slow! But when heard about it I went nuts. If I don't get to go, I'll have to bask in your enjoyment!
